How verification works
Verification communicates what we checked. It never means a supplier is good, that their product will be acceptable, or that they are financially sound. Only a per-order inspection speaks to quality.
In 2023 Alibaba delisted more than 2,100 Gold Suppliers for falsifying certifications, and roughly 42% of cross-border trade disputes originate in supplier identity fraud. The reason is structural: a badge awarded on submitted documents, by a platform paid for listings, cannot tell you whether a factory exists. Our tier names describe the evidence, not a marketing adjective — "Factory-Audited" is falsifiable in a way that "Gold Supplier" is not.

Manufacturer or sourcing partner
Displayed with equal prominence to the verification tier, on every card and every profile. This distinction cannot be established from documents — it requires someone to physically visit.
Produces in its own facility.
Produces some items in house and sources others.
Does not operate a factory. Aggregates from production partners, which must be disclosed at Tier 3.
They serve a genuine function — aggregation, low minimums, and an English-language interface for workshops that have none. Banning them would simply push them to lie. Instead they are classified, disclosed, and required to name their production partners to reach Tier 3. Misrepresentation means a permanent ban, with no appeal.
Buyer verification
Verification runs both ways. Pakistani suppliers' single biggest complaint about existing platforms is fake and low-quality inquiries, so business verification is required before a buyer can send a single sourcing request.
Can browse. Cannot submit a sourcing request.
KYB complete. Requests up to $25,000; messaging; samples.
Customs bond or broker on file. Unlimited request value; escrow orders; managed services.
Checks include legal entity and EIN/TIN validation, registration status, officers and beneficial owners, and OFAC and international sanctions screening — re-run on every order, not just at onboarding.
- It does not mean a supplier's products will be of acceptable quality. Only a per-order inspection speaks to that.
- It does not mean a supplier is financially sound.
- It does not transfer any liability to E-Com Market Place.
- It does not relieve you of your obligations as Importer of Record.
